Cookie Policy of Kansoft Schweiz GmbH

How Kansoft uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on kansoft.ch — what they are, why we use them, what data they collect, and how you can control them.

Last updated: 23 April 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Kansoft (Schweiz) GmbH (“Kansoft,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website kansoft.ch (the “Website”). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, what data they collect, and your rights to control them.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the personal data we collect through cookies and other means.

Your choices. When you visit kansoft.ch for the first time, you will see a cookie banner that lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your preferences by category. You can change your choices at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the website footer.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve their performance, and provide information to website owners about how visitors use the site.

We also use other tracking technologies that work similarly to cookies, including:

  • Pixels and tracking beacons: tiny graphics embedded in web pages or emails that record when a page or email is opened.
  • Local storage: stores small amounts of data in your browser to remember settings or session information.
  • Software development kits (SDKs): code libraries that may collect data from connected services we use.
  • Server logs: records automatically generated by our servers when you access the Website.

In this Policy, we use the term “cookies” to refer to all of these technologies collectively.

2. Types of cookies we use

Cookies can be classified by who sets them, how long they last, and what they do.

2.1 By who sets them

  • First-party cookies: set by Kansoft directly on the Website.
  • Third-party cookies: set by external services we use, such as analytics, marketing automation, and social media providers.

2.2 By duration

  • Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies: remain on your device for a specified period or until you manually delete them.

2.3 By purpose

We group cookies into the following categories. You can accept or reject each category (other than strictly necessary cookies) using our cookie banner or preference centre.

  • Strictly necessary: required for the Website to function. They enable core features like page navigation, form submission, and security. These cannot be switched off.
  • Performance & analytics: collect anonymous or pseudonymous information about how visitors use the Website — which pages they visit, how long they spend, what they click. We use this to understand and improve site performance.
  • Functional: enable enhanced features and personalisation — for example, remembering your preferences, language, region, or whether you have already accepted the cookie banner.
  • Marketing & targeting: used to track visitors across websites and to build a profile of their interests so we can show relevant advertising and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. May include cookies set by HubSpot, LinkedIn, Google Ads, and similar platforms.

3. Specific cookies and tracking technologies we use

The tables below list the main cookies and tracking technologies we currently use on the Website. The exact list may change as we update our tools and services; we will keep this Policy updated.

3.1 Strictly necessary

  • Session ID (kansoft.ch, session) — maintains your session as you navigate the site.
  • CSRF token (kansoft.ch, session) — prevents cross-site request forgery on form submissions.
  • cookieconsent_status (kansoft.ch, 12 months) — remembers your cookie preferences.

3.2 Performance & analytics

  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics, up to 24 months) — distinguishes unique users and sessions; aggregates usage data.
  • _gid (Google Analytics, 24 hours) — distinguishes users within a 24-hour window.
  • __hstc, __hssc, __hssrc, hubspotutk (HubSpot, up to 13 months) — tracks visitors across the site, identifies returning visitors, and links activity to a contact record once a form is submitted. Loaded only after you consent to the marketing category.
  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4, up to 2 years) — measures page views, time on page and form completions. Loaded through Google Tag Manager, and only after you consent to the analytics category.
  • _clck, _clsk, CLID (Microsoft Clarity, up to 1 year) — records sessions (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement) and builds heatmaps so we can see where the site confuses people. Form field input is masked by Clarity. Loaded through Google Tag Manager, and only after you consent to the analytics category.
  • ks_consent (set by us, 180 days) — stores your cookie choice so we apply it on every visit. First-party: no third-party consent platform is involved. Strictly necessary, so it is set without consent.

3.3 Functional

  • preferences (kansoft.ch, 12 months) — remembers UI preferences such as language or region.
  • gated_content_unlock (kansoft.ch, 30 days) — remembers that you have unlocked gated content (case studies, whitepapers).

3.4 Marketing & targeting

  • __hs_*, hsfirstvisit (HubSpot Marketing, up to 13 months) — tracks marketing campaign attribution and email engagement.
  • li_at, lidc, bcookie, bscookie (LinkedIn Insight Tag, up to 24 months) — measures conversions from LinkedIn campaigns and enables retargeting.
  • _gcl_au (Google Ads / Conversion, 90 days) — stores ad-click information for conversion measurement.
  • fr, _fbp (Meta / Facebook, up to 90 days) — used for ad delivery and measurement (only if Meta Pixel is deployed).

Where required by applicable law (including the EU ePrivacy Directive, the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and similar laws), we rely on the following legal bases to use cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website. These cookies do not require your consent.
  • All other cookies: your consent, given through our cookie banner or preference centre. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

In jurisdictions that do not require prior consent for non-essential cookies, we may rely on legitimate interests, but we will continue to honour any opt-out request you make.

5. How to manage cookies

5.1 Through our cookie banner

When you first visit our Website, you will see a cookie banner that lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your choices by category. You can revisit your choices at any time by clicking the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer of the Website.

5.2 Through your browser

Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. You can typically:

  • See what cookies are stored on your device and delete them individually.
  • Block third-party cookies.
  • Block cookies from specific sites.
  • Block all cookies.
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser.

Browser-specific instructions are available at:

Please note that if you block or delete cookies, parts of the Website may not function correctly.

5.3 Opting out of analytics and advertising

You can opt out of certain third-party analytics and advertising tools directly:

5.4 “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. There is no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to them. Where required by applicable law, we honour recognised opt-out signals such as the GPC for the categories of processing they cover.

6. Mobile and other devices

If you access our Website from a mobile device, you may be able to control similar tracking through your device settings (for example, by resetting your advertising identifier or limiting ad tracking).

7. What data do cookies collect?

Cookies and similar technologies on our Website may collect:

  • Your IP address (which may be truncated by analytics providers for privacy).
  • Device, browser, and operating system information.
  • Pages visited, time spent on each page, and click paths.
  • Referring URLs and search terms.
  • Form submissions and content downloads, where these can be linked to a contact record.
  • Email opens and clicks (if you receive marketing emails from us).

How we use and protect this data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, the technologies behind them, or for legal or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. If you turn analytics or marketing back off, we delete the related cookies and reload the page — that is the only reliable way to stop a tracker that has already started.
